Willis Ayieko, the slain Wells Fargo HR manager, is set to be buried on Saturday, November 9, at his home in Siaya County.
What did Willis Ayieko’s wife say?
His wife, Esther Wagumba, wrote a heartfelt tribute recalling their precious time together.
“It was never meant to be like this. We had plans for our old age. We made fun of how each of us would look in old age,” she wrote.

Esther recalled that their last meal was with Ayieko’s brother, and they had a good time.
“The plan was for us to travel the world after the kids go to college,” Esther said.
She disclosed that they had been together for 18 years, and his love was unwavering.
“You loved, protected, cared and provided for us,” she wrote, admitting she missed him.
Esther noted that Ayieko was welcoming, kind, and respectable, noting that she’ll always love him.
“Your smartness was out of this world,” she said while praising his fashion sense.
She further thanked his friends, colleagues, relatives, politicians and church for their immense support.
To their kids, Nathan and Lauren, Esther wrote:
“I will love you with all I have and that which God will provide; I know I cannot measure up, but we will be okay by God’s grace.”
She concluded her tribute with a Bible verse on dwelling in the Lord’s house all the days of her life.

Ayieko’s son, Nathan, described him as his best friend.
“He provided everything we needed. We will all miss him very much,” he wrote.
The daughter, Lauren, said their late dad loved them immensely.

The majestic compound has two bungalows, his and his brother’s.
The first house with carved blocks features a black roof and is surrounded by a white picket fence.
The bungalow boasts expansive windows, allowing in lots of light. Ayieko was an avid farmer and reared several animals.
