“While the former DP as a right to legal recourse in courts, we as the UDA Founders Association hold that he was properly impeached and therefore should disentangle from our party and sever any political ties forthwith,” the statement read in part.
The founders also called on the party to nominate the newly appointed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as its deputy leader.
They also demanded that the party’s leadership take disciplinary action against Members of Parliament who voted against Gachagua’s ouster in the National Assembly despite the serious charges against him.

“We opine that the MPs who defended the disgraced MPs brought shame and disrepute to the party and are guilty by association,” the statement further read.
