Naivasha: Simba Coach Bus with Passengers En Route to Kampala Bursts into Flames

Naivasha – A bus ferrying passengers from Nairobi to Kampala has been burned to ashes.

The Simba Coach Bus Company vehicle, which had 20 passengers, burst into flames along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

TUKO.co.ke established that the passenger service bus burnt down at the Morendat area in Naivasha on Thursday, November 7.

Luckily, all the passengers were safely evacuated from the burning bus, but all their personal effects and goods were reduced to ashes.

What caused Simba Coach Bus fire incident?

Naivasha OCPD Antony Keter confirmed the incident, stating that the fire started from the back wheels. This forced the driver to park by the roadside before the whole bus was engulfed in fire and reduced to a shell.

“We had an incident where a bus heading to Kampala developed mechanical breakdown, and a fire erupted, but all the passengers escaped unhurt,” Keter said.

A video shared by Naivasha Trending captured the moment the bus fire started.

In the footage, the passengers are heard pleading with other motorists to help them with fire extinguishers.

How many people died in Nyamira accident?

Elsewhere, grief and sorrow engulfed Kijauri, Nyamira county, following a tragic accident that left several people dead.

Police said the accident, which happened on Sunday, November 3, left several other people injured.

The three people died on the spot when a truck veered and sadly knocked down people along the road at night.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the lorry carrying avocados burst its tyre and ploughed into a crowd of people on the busy roadside.

Police said the canter was ferrying goods from Kisii county when its brakes failed before crashing into the crowd.
