Revered Rufus Amaku of Aya Parish in Vurra Archdeaconry sat for his Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at 54.

He was sitting for the national examination 34 years after he dropped out of primary school due to several factors.

The clergy donned the school uniform of Aya Primary School as he joined other pupils for the national exams.

“This man of God sitting for his exams at Aya Primary School in Arua is leading the pupils in prayer before their first paper,” read the caption.

In the photos shared online, Rufus closed his eyes and lifted his hand as he intensely prayed, with some pupils bowing their heads.

In another, Rufus comfortably sat behind a desk with an exam paper before him and a pen in his right hand.

Rufus, a father of seven, has over 20 years of evangelisation experience, which he gained after dropping out of school.

Asiya said the challenges she faced led her to persuade her husband to agree to pay her fees.

When asked why she left school, she explained that she became pregnant after entering a relationship.
