On Wednesday, November 6, Miguna posted on X, expressing dismay over Kenyans’ support for Trump.

He likened African support for Trump to Palestinians celebrating Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu, given Trump’s administration’s record on racial issues in the US.

“Africans cheering @realDonaldTrump’s election are like Palestinians cheering @netanyahu’s re-election. They are cheering Jim Crow laws, mass deportations of Africans and people of colour and widespread racist violence by white supremacists and the Ku Klux Klan! Is it stupidity, naivety, primitivity, or all of the above?” Miguna asked.

Why did Miguna criticise Kenyans

Miguna, known for his outspoken critiques of leaders, urged Kenyans to recognise the role that US foreign policies often play in Africa.

He accused both Republicans and Democrats of promoting imperialism in Africa, asserting that the new US administration might not be advantageous for Kenya, especially when it comes to policies influenced by global financial institutions like the IMF and the World Bank.

“Do you know who will replace @USAmbKenya? Will s/he be better or worse than @USAmbKenya? Do you know that @realDonaldTrump and the Republicans will be worse than the Democrats and @JoeBiden when it comes to the imposition of @IMFNews and @WorldBank imperialism on Kenya?” Miguna posed

He stressed the importance of analyzing global issues critically rather than blindly celebrating foreign political wins.
