It was an act of kindness that has seen locals who will now have it easy travelling within the area express their gratitude to the man.

“Today, we have seen what we have never seen in this market. I can count five MCAs who have ignored our pleas,” Dorothy Auma Onyago, the Vice Chair of Obeyi Market, told TUKO.co.ke.

According to Auma, the road’s state had endangered lives, making access to the market challenging and forcing community members to navigate difficult routes.

Cosmas Odhiambo, a local boda boda rider, also expressed his appreciation for Eng. Ouko’s initiative, emphasizing its uniqueness from the lack of response by political figures.

“We have cried for so long, but no one has ever heard us,” Odhiambo remarked, adding with a smile, “I would vote for him if he ever ran for office.”
