Dubbed Usilipe Nauli — Swahili for “don’t pay fare” — the 14-seater van will help community members reach hospitals, government service centres, and other important locations.
The Usilipe Nauli van will provide critical support for elderly residents who often struggle with limited access to services due to mobility or financial constraints.
It is a tribute to the selfless contributions that older generations have made toward raising and educating the local youth, who are now a driving force in the area’s growth.
“We owe a lot to our elders who sacrificed so much to educate and guide us,” said Okeno.
He added that the van was his small way of showing our gratitude and making life a little easier for them.
