The club has disclosed that the 39-year-old will officially begin his role on November 11. Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in charge until Amorim arrives.
He will be expected to rejuvenate the team, which has made their worst start in the Premier League. His first match will be away at Ipswich Town on November 24.
