The Kenya Roads Board (KRB) has released the Kenya Roads Register report for 2024.

Overall, KRB reported that Kenya has 239,122 kilometres of roads, comprising 57,030 kilometres of National Trunk Roads and 182,092 kilometres of County Roads.
NTRs are major highways and primary routes that connect key regions within a country, facilitating large-scale transportation of people, goods, and services.

Notably, the highest concentration of roads often appears in counties with major urban centres or those that serve as transportation hubs for various economic activities, supporting both regional and national connectivity.
Makueni County has the highest total road network, with a combined length of 12,116 km (1,304 km for NTR and 10,812 km for county roads), followed by Nakuru County, with a total of 14,505 km (1,659 km NTR and 12,847 km county roads).
