Migori – A tragic incident occurred in Ilerege village in Bukira Central Ward, Kehancha sub-county on the night of Saturday, October 26, when a local football official and farmer was fatally stabbed under unclear circumstances.

The area Assistant Chief Chacha Sagamo affirmed the incident, stating that Moi Ottomax was attacked by unknown assailants, sustaining deep chest wounds.

“The young man was stabbed in the chest, which left him bleeding a lot. Unfortunately, he died as we were rushing him to the hospital,” the local administrator told Citizen Digital.

Witnesses reported seeing a man, suspected to be the primary suspect, from the local area chasing Ottomax on the streets of Ikerege Shopping Centre. Armed with a knife, the suspect allegedly cornered and fatally attacked the victim.

The body of the deceased was promptly transported to the Kehancha Sub-County Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination and further procedures.

Law enforcement is actively investigating the case and is conducting a manhunt for the suspect, who is reported to have fled the area.
