We have been providing first aid and first aid training for over 140 years. However, our enduring story goes all the way back to 11th century Jerusalem where the first Knights of St John set up a hospital to provide free medical care to sick pilgrims.

Why is the word ambulance written backwards?
Another story revealed why the word “ambulance” is reversed on the front of the vehicle using a phenomenon known as lateral inversion.
This occurs when an object is reflected in a mirror, causing its left side to appear as the right side in the reflected image and vice versa.
The purpose of this reverse writing is to facilitate easy reading for drivers in front of the ambulance when they look at it in their rear-view mirrors.
