Nairobi – In a significant setback for impeached deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, the three-judge bench in his case has declined to recuse themselves.
The High Court Judges in Gachagua’s impeachment case include Justices Freda Mugambi, Eric Ogola, and Anthony Mrima.
In a ruling made on Friday, October 25, the judges affirmed Gachagua’s right to appeal their decision while proceeding with the case.
They further directed that the application challenging the conservatory orders, which halted the swearing-in of the new deputy president, be heard on Tuesday, October 29 at 10am.
