This comes after Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei tabled a bill at the Senate to extend the presidential term limit from the current five years to seven years.

In an undated video, Ruto stated that his Kenya Kwanza government will lead the opposition against any efforts to introduce an extension of the presidential term limit.

“We will oppose any move to change the constitution. I will be at the front to say no to any change of the constitution, to change term limit
He said he would also lead the fight against proposals designed solely to benefit individuals at the expense of others.
“That is uncalled for and it is an exercise in futility and it will not happen under my watch,” Ruto said.
