Ngong’: Cases of femicide in the country continue to rise at an alarming rate, with the recent case involving 24-year-old Christine Nyakio, who was found dead in a swamp in Ngong’.

In an effort to investigate Nyakio’s death, detectives visited her home, where they found a diary that provided insights into the circumstances surrounding her death.

A diary recovered from Nyakio’s apartment in Ngong’ revealed details about her relationship with her alleged boyfriend, identified only as Denno.

The deceased’s personal diary depicted a picture of a strained relationship with her estranged partner.

While speaking to Citizen TV, a woman who reportedly knew Nyakio said the last time she saw her, she appeared troubled.

She added that when she inquired further, Nyakio admitted she was not okay but did not reveal what the problem was.

“I asked her what problems she had. She said had a problem. She then asked to leave but promised to be back,” Wanjiru said.

Nyakio’s mother, Phylis Wanjiru, painfully stated that she had not heard from her daughter for three days before receiving the news of her death on Tuesday, October 22.

“I was being told by Anne that they had spoken and was doing well. We didn’t speak from Friday so i got the news yesterday that she was no more,” Wanjiru said.
