Mudongo, a regular at the establishment, was discovered lifeless in his room hours after being joined by a young woman.

According to police reports, used condoms and drug-like tablets were found near his body, which was lying on the floor.

“We are still doing our investigations, it is true we found the man dead, and beside him were two used condoms, there are rumours by locals and those working in the restaurant that the man was in the company of a woman and she left the room alone. Later, a restaurant worker discovered that the man was dead,” said the investigating officer.

How was Elijah Mudongo found dead?

The club owner, Velma Achema, stated that Mudongo had ordered food but asked the staff to wait for his signal before delivering it to the room.

Concern grew when no communication came from him until 7pm, at which point his death was discovered.

“He came and called a woman unknown to us. He ordered food but told the waiters to wait for his instructions. When they hadn’t heard from him by 7pm, they checked and found him dead. There were drug-like substances on a piece of paper and used contraceptives,” Achema said.

Residents have expressed outrage over the circumstances of Mudongo’s death, with some urging young people to avoid involvement with older men and seek relationships within their age group.

The woman who was seen leaving the hotel remains at large, and authorities are continuing their search for her.
