Kilifi – Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah has refuted claims that he was eying to replace Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.

Speaking in Rabai constituency on Monday, October 21, Ichung’wah insisted that he was content with his current position and was not eying any position within President William Ruto’s cabinet.

The National Assembly Majority Leader argued he had yet to accomplish the purpose for which Kikuyu constituency residents elected him.

According to Ichung’wah, reports of eyeing the prestigious cabinet position after Kindiki was appointed as the deputy president were only meant to create confusion among Kenyans.

“I have heard there are many things that have been said here, one of the politicians has suggested that I should become the Interior CS. But I want to say that I have a job and I don’t want people to get confused.

“I do not need the job of a minister, I have a job that I was given by Kikuyu constituents and these MPs also gave me a task in the National Assembly, I want to continue with this job so that we can bring development in Rabai and other parts of the country,” Ichung’wah added.

The outspoken lawmaker stated that he did not lead the impeachment motion of Rigathi Gachagua so as to get a job in the Cabinet.
