Nakuru, Kenya – A 22-year-old female student from Mount Kenya University (MKU) was found dead in the Kiamunyi area.

KTN News reports that the young woman’s body was discovered early Monday morning in a maize plantation in Kiamunyi.

The local area chief, Wilson Maraga, confirmed that a receipt found in her handbag indicated she had left Thika for Nakuru on Saturday afternoon.

The receipt suggests that she had arrived in the city just days before the tragic incident.

The receipt shows she travelled from Thika, but what transpired after her arrival is still under investigation,” Maraga said.

Authorities have launched investigations into the murder, which has sent shockwaves through both the local community and the university.
