Join our ‘Wantam’ movement, Malala urges disgruntled ODM MPs

DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala has urged embattled ODM members who failed to attend the broad-based government Parliamentary Group meeting earlier this week to join the United Opposition.

Speaking during an exclusive interview at the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) headquarters, Malala directly appealed to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi to work with the opposition in ensuring President William Ruto becomes a one-term Head of State.

Malala pointed out that the absence of the three legislators from the recent ODM-UDA meeting at Karen, coupled with their consistent criticism of President Ruto over alleged atrocities against Gen-Z demonstrators—including abductions and killings—was a clear sign they belong to the “Wantam Brigade.”

He further stated that the three leaders have the influence and political muscle needed to push back and ensure President Ruto exits office after one term.
