The survey was undertaken at a time when the country’s top leadership is staring at a mini-transition following the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
With the matter already in the Senate, debate is already lit on who is the best fit to succeed Gachagua should his impeachment stand in the upper house.

According to Infotrak, Kenyans have tied down the race to Kindiki, ODM leader Raila Odinga, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, governors Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay) and Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga).
Overall, 20% of the Kenyan citizenry wants the Interior CS to deputise President William Ruto.
Distantly trailing Kindiki are Mudavadi (5%), Waiguru (5%), Wanga (4%), and Nyoro (4%).
Closing the list of the preferables is Raila, who only 2% of Kenyans believe he can be the best fit for the post.
