Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has advised Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah not to support the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Why Salasya is cautioning Sifuna, Omtatah?
In a statement on his social media pages, Salasya said he made history as the only young leader from the Western region to vote against Gachagua’s impeachment on Tuesday, October 8.
He cautioned Sifuna that voting in favour of the motion would only please the ODM party but would not advance his long-term political ambitions.
“Don’t lose these seven constituencies in Nairobi. You need them again… Remember you are the only leader who was elected with the largest number of votes in the country,” Salasya said.

According to the Mumias East MP, most Kenyans believe there’s no need to impeach only Gachagua; they want both Ruto and his deputy impeached together.
Salasya advised Omtatah that voting against Gachagua’s impeachment would help him gain more trust among Kenyans. He added that following this advice would yield positive results for him.
“You are a trusted leader in the Senate. Vote No, and you will see. Money will come and go, but trust wins across the board,” Salasya added.
