The case has been active in the Eldoret High Court since early 2023, when Chiloba was discovered murdered.
Jackton Odhiambo, the late Chiloba’s close friend and one-time roommate, is the prime suspect in the murder.

Twenty-two key witnesses presented their accounts to the court before the closure of the file.
Among the witnesses is the government’s chief pathologist, Johansen Oduor, who conducted a postmortem on the deceased’s remains.
Another key witness is the government’s principal chemist, Polycarp Kweyu, who informed the court that the male DNA profile generated from the bed cover which draped Chiloba’s body matched seminal fluids extracted from the prime suspect.
Justice Reuben Nyakundi, who presided over the case from the beginning, directed the parties to correspond with the court with the case materials within a fortnight.
Nyakundi will issue his verdict on November 8.
