The Iranian Embassy in Kenya has condemned the latest attack in their country, assuring the safety of Kenyans.

Addressing the media on Monday, Ambassador Ali Gholampour condemned the latest attack by the United States and Israel on Iran.

“ Such brutal attacks of the regime and the US, the damages resulting therefrom pose formidable risks of release of radioactive material, and risks to the civilian population and the environment, for that matter,” said Gholampour.

On June 13, Israel launched an attack on Iran, killing hundreds of civilians and injuring more than a thousand. 

Again on Sunday June 22, the US also attacked Iran, targeting the Natanz, Isfahan and Fordo peaceful nuclear facilities.

The ambassador criticised the acts of aggression by the two countries, noting that they constitute to gross violation of international law.

He has called on the international community to intervene to stop the attacks, which have caused destruction and deaths.

“The international community should stop the regime’s unbridled violations and hold it fully accountable for all its crimes committed throughout the past decades to the present day. The UN Security Council, which has been entrusted with the primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, should adopt forthwith effective sanctions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter against the Israeli regime to stop its acts of aggression and crimes in the region,” added Gholampour.

He assured that Iran shall hold the regimes accountable for every single life taken.

The ambassador, however, assured there was no systematic attack, hence can not account for the number of lives lost in the attacks.

He added that the Kenyans in Iran were safe from the attacks and awaiting evacuation.
