The Bungoma National Polytechnic community is in mourning after a student was fatally shot during demonstrations that happened on Tuesday, October 8.

How did the student get shot?
In a video, students are seen carrying the deceased while wailing in pain.
The student was reportedly shot dead during a confrontation between students and police officers who were attempting to control the protests.
The students were protesting alleged mismanagement of the institution. They were also reportedly demanding that the Ministry of Education transfer the school principal.
