Their fans arrived in style exuding the confidence required of an indomitable lion that was ready to do all in its means to wrestle and achieve their intended ambition.

Kabras Sugar RFC needed the support of these fans to dismantle the barriers that could stop them from retaining the Enterprise Cup and put them on a record of winning it for a fifth time.

And when Kenya Cup champions took to the pitch, they never gave home boys Menengai Oilers time to settle, which led them to come out victorious in the fight for top honours.

Kabras Sugar retained the Enterprise Cup after mercilessly whipping Menengai Oilers 33-12 in a revenge mission after the 15-0 loss they suffered against Oilers in the Great Rift 10-aside tournament at Nakuru Athletic Club two weeks ago.

And with the end of Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup, which Kabras Sugar won both to prove their authority in the Kenyan rugby scene, the next fight will be in the National Seven Circuit that kicks-off on July 25-26.

Kabras coach Max Adaka said they’ll continue boosting their squads as they look to win more titles in the future.

“We have a culture of boosting our squads with formidable talents from schools, which has made us to keep having strong squads. We’ll keep on doing this for us to come back here for more victories,” Adaka told reporters at ASK Nakuru Showground upon wrestling the Enterprise Cup.

Adaka said the consistency of boosting their squads is their culture ever since and they are not stopping anytime soon.

“And to win more titles, we need formidable squads, And that’s exactly what we are going to do after this event,” added the coach.

Oilers head coach, Gibson Weru told reporters Aluta continua (the struggle continues) in the next couple of events ahead of them.

“This is not the end of the struggle. We must scheme to win in the next couple of events,” he said.

Weru said winning is a work in progress and therefore it will not stop with losing the Enterprise Cup.

And with both coaches exuding confidence of achieving positive results in the next tournaments, focus now shifts to the National Sevens Circuit.

It kicks-off with the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa on July 25-26 at Mombasa Sports Club ahead of Prinsloo Sevens on August 2-3 at Nakuru Athletic Club.

The third leg will be Christie Sevens in Nairobi on August 16-17 ahead of the fourth leg on August 23-24, which Kenya Rugby Union is yet to state its venue.

Kabeberi Sevens follows at Rugby Union of East Africa Grounds on September 6-7 with the Dala Sevens in Kisumu wrapping it up on September 13-14.
