Nairobi – Anti-government activist Morara Kebaso has opened up about the events leading up to his time at the Bomas of Kenya.
Goons roughed up the lawyer-turned-political activist during the public participation exercise on the proposed impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking on Spice FM on Monday, October 7, Morara claimed his attack was planned way before he arrived at the Bomas of Kenya.
“It seems plans had been made much earlier that I would be attacked. It’s the public that demanded that I speak but it was not the wish of the emcee, TJ Kajwang’ that I speak. I was cornered, my bodyguard was injured and I was hit by more than 30 metallic chairs,” Morara said.

According to Morara, he failed to see the red flags which included his personal security being compromised.
‘’It is now that I am juggling memory to see where I got it wrong and I think were enough red flags that I should have seen that I did not see. We fall, we rise, we learn,’’ he added.
According to Morara, police officers allowed him into Bomas County after the intervention of the members of the public.
He stated that shortly after entering the compound, officers he identified as being from the General Service Unit (GSU) denied him access to the venue.
The activist narrated that his security was compromised when only one security agent of his detail was allowed to accompany him, further raising eyebrows about the alleged intention to harm him.

‘’When I returned to the first door, I found a high-ranking officer, and I asked her if I would like to go in and she told me that I could only enter with one person and I think that that is where my security was compromised,’’ he stated.
Morara said goons emerged from behind the dias and started throwing chairs at him after he stood, requesting a microphone to air out his views on the impeachment motion
‘’I listened to other people raise their opinions and when I raised my hand, the public pointed at me and demanded that I speak but TJ Kajwang’ refused saying that I wanted to disrupt the meeting. I stood up and said, ‘No, give me the microphone.’ Suddenly some goons came from behind the dias to cause the chaos throwing chairs at me,’’ the activist narrated.
