The Catholic Church has cautions politicians against causing chaos at the burial of Malava MP Malulu Injendi.

Father Vincent Sanga of St Teresa Malava Parish eulogised the Malulu as a humble man who never sought publicity.

“Our MP was a humble man and he never sat in the front row. He never stood in the church to do politics but rather he would just whisper at me to alert people that he is around,” said Sanga.

He said the MP raised the standards of education in the region and he carried out church projects without chest thumping.

The requiem was attended by politicians and lawmakers from Western region, who also eulogise Malulu as a humble and peaceful man

“We want the burial of our late to be peaceful and that’s is the only last respect we can accord our fallen hero and we don’t want to see politicians bringing people in the funeral to heckle others,” said Governor Fernandes Barasa.

The late MP’s family has also banned politics. “Malulu was a peaceful man who loved everyone in equal measure and we are calling for peace so that he can be laid to rest in the respected manner he deserves,” said Betty Malulu, the widow.

Western Regional Commissioner Irungu Macharia warned leaders planning to heckle others leaders, adding that President William Ruto would attend the burial tomorrow.

“I want to warn those planning to disrupt the burial of a leader who was a peaceful man that they will face the wrath of the law and we want peace because the head of state will be around and he needs respect,” he said.
