Nairobi – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s troubles have deepened following the tabling of the impeachment motion.

In a communication on Tuesday, October 1, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula said he had received notice of motion for the proposed removal of Gachagua from office

“I am in receipt of a notice of a special motion dated Thursday, 26th September 2024 and received on Friday, 27th September 2024 from the Member for Kibwezi West, Hon. Mwengi Mutuse. The member seeks a resolution of the House for removal from office by impeachment of Hon. Rigathi Gachagua as the Deputy President of Kenya

The notice of the special motion seeks a resolution of the House for the removal from office by impeachment of the Deputy President on the grounds specified under Article 150 (1)(b) of the Constitution and sets out the particulars in respect of each ground,” Wetang’ula said
